Nose has honey, juiced lemon/orange, oxidized apple, warm toffee, dried coconut, sea spray, light Sherry notes, shellac flakes, old wood planks, sawdust, browning butter and roasted tree nuts.
Palate has dried lemon, old wax, toasted pistachio, honey, butterscotch dipped yellow apple with flaked sea salt, candied lemon and an incredible finish. Long with fine acidity, non-stop, oxidative notes but not overindulgent. Decanted +2H, continuing its development on our glasses (Gabriel-Glas StandArt tonight).
This wine is perfect shape and still has many years in front of it; 2030+ in proper storage. Quite possibly one of the finest bottles of any blanc we've enjoyed this year, certainly in a top five for 2020. A great example of why Portugal's blanc offerings need so many years of rest, the reward is substantial. — 4 years ago
