This is another blend. But this time it’s Cab, Syrah and Mourvèdre. — 4 years ago
Velvety without being dry. — 4 years ago
On the nose, this is blackberry, eucalyptus, dark cherry... On the palate, green pepper, eucalyptus, red plum skins, salmon berries from the side of the trail... The green is super interesting while still suggesting a well-made wine as that green is so well integrated... Not a ton of acidity here and the tannins are there but not overwhelming... Soft and wispy just five years after the vintage... A lot of green pepper even in the long finish... While I enjoy that note on the palate, it becomes a little less appealing on that finish, but an emotive wine nonetheless... Worth trying. — 6 months ago
Softer Cabernet full of mellow dried herbs and cherry. Loving it with grilled pork tenderloin. — 3 years ago
Earthy aromas with ripe plum notes - a very Otago nose albeit in the lighter spectrum. Same notes transfer to the medium bodied sappy palate. Not as full bodied as I was expecting. Quite Burgundian in weight and texture. Made by the equally earthy Nick Mills, owner and winemaker who made his presentation at Pinot NZ 2018 in Wellington in bare feet. Rippon is biodynamic and chemical free. I subsequently had a nice chat with him - a genuine bloke. Must be one of the prettiest vineyard scenes anywhere in the world sloping up from Lake Wanaka. Whilst this is classed as Central Otago this is not as full bodied as the Bannockburn/Felton Road district. — 4 years ago

Well balanced, hints of under-ripe fruit — maybe melon and pear. Tastes like Chardonnay grape. Finish is interesting and slightly metallic. Quite nice, an unexpected surprise. — 3 months ago
