Château Béthanie

Fruitiere Vinicole d'Arbois

Cuvée Béthanie Arbois 2018

It took me a good 8 to 10 years into my wine tasting and discovery journey to start liking and appreciating oxydative wines (sous voile) from jura. But now I like them more and more every time. Something in the mouthfeel which is unmistakable...
The nose is very oxydative with walnuts, bruised apples... The palate is superlative. A huge acid drive, great width, a dusty, buttery mouthfeel, some subtle nutty touches along with apple, before a massive, spherical and buttery mid palate that powers up an extremely long finish with butter, nutty notes and a nice freshness that makes it really great. It's clearly not for everybody but it's very much for me 😅

I’m 40 years into wine (started in college!) and just have never been into oxidative wines (except for the occasional sherry).

Château Béthanie

Crémant du Jura Brut Chardonnay 1906

Heavily briochy and super unique with the addition of vin jaune. Not subtle. At first I didn’t know what to make of it but wow yeah it’s excellent. — 2 years ago
