I’m always impressed by Pietramarina and the 15 is no different! — 6 years ago
Finding what I've been looking for in Carricante. It's got a marsanne/roussane-like nose with banana peel, the blossoms of some rich tropical fruit, and some sage or Cali bay leaf. The phenolic are nicely reigned in, and it has something of that weightless, rainwater characteristic that the Benanti Pietramarina has in such abundance. Little fruit on the palate, just texture, acid, and minerality. Faintly tannic finish. — 10 years ago

2020 spring. Calderara Sottana is on the north side of Etna and better known for reds. This was really nice, with lots of flowers and almonds, and a salt / acid backbone. Again, no petrol - again perhaps because of youth. I’d be curious to see how this ages compared to Pietramarina or A’Puddara — 4 years ago
