Bukettraube 2023

I don’t know of any other producers who make a single-varietal wine from this obscure grape, but this wine is still fairly easy to find, an observation that is not difficult to understand. This wine is just plain delicious. Year after year it is in my top two or three white wines. Very aromatic, it boasts an abundance of fruity and floral aromas. On the palate, flavors of lychee and dried apricot reveal a subtle sweetness that is hard to resist. 100% Bukettraube. 4/13/25. — 22 days ago

Not an ice wine in its true sense as the grapes were not harvested frozen on the vines.

It lacks the nutty and molasses notes I often associate with ice wine, in particular from Canada, and certainly not as rich. Still very enjoyable with lovely tropical fruits and floral notes. Viscous yet refreshing.

100% Scheurebe, which is a crossing of Riesling and Bukettraube, and was created by German viticulturalist Georg Scheu - hence the name Scheurebe (Scheu Vine).

Rödelseer Schwanleite Trocken Scheurebe 2017

A fantastic wine. But let it warm up! I drank it at almost room temp. Scheurebe was developed by Georg Scheu in 1916. A cross of the Bukettraube with Riesling and it shows! Super aromatic, white grapefruit, herbs, touch of marjoram? Green apple. Hint of mandarine zest. Tart. Less acidic then Riesling! — 6 years ago
