Brigante Lucano

D'Angelo Basilicata Aglianico 2017

D’Angelo Brigante Lucano Basilicata IGT 2017: A youthful & fruity blend of Aglianico, Merlot & Primitivo, displaying bright red fruits, soft tannins and a quick, short finish. Not lacking flavors whatsoever, however I still wanted more depth & texture which will come over time as this wine evolves toward maturity. Glad I still have 2 more bottles to cellar! Overall, a great wine, perfect with pizza and a nice QPR! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

Castello di Amorosa

Zingaro Zinfandel Blend 2012

2012 Il Brigante from Castello di Amorosa is an spin on zin. I mean to say it is phenomenal! Spicy and full flavor. Loads of black cherry and blackberry at first then followed by a tangy (not bitter) blast of perfection in a glass. The spice and vanilla take the tongue hostage and finish it off it a moderately dry oak and earthy ending. My God this is good wine. And affordable! Look out San Antonio winery, I have a new favorite!!!! Castello di Amorosa baby!!!!!!!!! — 7 years ago

Castello di Amorosa

Il Brigante Red Blend

Tastes like the wines I had in Tuscany. Bought it at the winery. Had a wine tasting there with all their wines. Well worth the trip. Beautiful castle. 2017 vintage. — 7 months ago

Castello di Amorosa

Zingaro Old Vine Zinfandel 2014

This is Zingaro Old Vine Zinfandel 2014 from Castello di Amorosa - my new favorite winery!!!!! It is a wonderful spicy zin. Not as good as the iL brigante and yet more expensive, but it is a fantastic zinfandel. And Im not talking white zin - not my kind of wine. I hate it when the waiter doesn’t know the difference...
I digress, this has an amazing spicy chocolate beginning turning into a notes of oak and gravel. The finish is long and tart like that of a sour apple yet more on the blackberry dark currant side. It is so delicious!!!!! Give me more, more, more!!!! The difference between this and the IL Brigante is the tart finish. You must have dark chocolate with this one and cheese with the IL Brigante zinfandel. - see previous rating for IL Brigante.

Anniversario Amaro Lucano

Already a big fan of the Lucano house style, I found this a definite cut above. A bit richer, more herbal, but still super balanced. — 6 years ago
