Nose is elegant. Has some age. Really deep. Maybe grapefruit rind. That old Riesling complexity. Wow. Gorgeous.
Palate is fresh. Deep. Very good. A hint of yellow grapefruit but more just this sense of amazing depth. Excellent acidity. So good.

2019. I was so excited to see a beerenauslese on the wine list, as it has been a very long time since I’ve had one. The thick honeyed mouthfeel was balanced with enough acidity to not feel cloying or overly sweet at all. Such a treat to enjoy this with the other two Mosel Rieslings tonight! — 15 hours ago
Unreal nose. Lime zest and flesh along with sick slate. Such well defined slate. Some ripe apricot and other fruits that veer towards just tropical. Such a sense of refinement. Airy, salty and slatey. Wow. So ethereal. Nothing like this. Unreal peach. Sickness. Nose is a 9.9. Zowie Batman complexity. So much energy on the palate. Wow. Insane acids and grip and that extra feinherb dosage adds such a textural relevance. But man is this fine and so structured. Sappy as all can be. Stimulating and salty. Man is this long and also needs mega mega air. You can sniff this so hard and it keeps giving more nuance. The complexity is off the charts and the structure and acidity is so intense. This is a 75 year wine and better in 10. But wow. A monument to the vintage. As long as any 19 i’ve had. — a day ago
Citrus explosion on the nose. Such clarity and depth. The vividness of the citrus is stunning. Blood orange, grapefruit, tangelo, pink grapefruit and more. Awesome mineral depth and so much slate. Palate is bone dry and skeletal with forceful minerality and stunning purity. Delicate and playful. So pure and wispy. Lovely hit of opulence in the mid palate and perfect acid balance. Luscious on the finish and really the acid is not high, nor low, just perfect. Very complex and elegant. The minerality is at once forceful but also playful. There is citrus on the palate and such filigree. Steffensberg is always one of the most mineral wines ever. — 7 days ago
Wow. Nose is the most vivid peach ever. Creamy as well. Stunning mineral depth. Sea air. Ocean Breeze. Slate galore. Insane mineral depth. The nose is so deep. My goodness. Stunning layering. Crunchy and concentrated. Wow. This is genius. So elegant, crunchy, concentrated and pure. Essence of Kabinett. Long as the day is in late June. Just beautiful. Structured and deep. Sappy and pure. Amazing flavorful. Stone fruits. What a long wine. Almost perfect. The balance here is amazing. Kab Trocken so hard to pull off and Martin does it as good as anybody. Yup this is a 9.6. Wow!
As this airs the nose gets more mineral and the peach blends much more with the slatey minerals. Herbs as well. This is mindblowing Kabinett. This is so juicy and joyous. This will go down almost too easy. — 13 days ago
Big nose. Creamy and ripe. Superb slate and so fine and refined. But also wide open and expansive. Yellow fruits and such fine and dense minerality. Palate is ripe and elegant. Chewy and rich but also fresh and mineral and long. Gets to every nook and cranny. Maybe a feinherb style? Huge mid palate and so elegant but precise and wide open. There is a hidden density here. Love the extra RS which makes this so sexy and drinkable. Breathtaking nose now. Much more mineral and less creamy and ripe. Needed that ripeness to blow off. I love slate. Can never get enough. Terrific concentration. Lacks the depth of the GG’s.
Now after 10 hours this is such a beauty. 9.4 to 9.5. Nose more integrated and palate is a work of art. Juicy, creamy, energetic and so concentrated. Mouthwatering. — a day ago
Ripe and deep nose. Huge stone fruits, peach, apricot, plum, tangerine and more. Some citrus undertones as well. Gorgeous minerality and unreal roundness to the nose. This is 13% which contributes to the depth. The 12% Steffensberg was more piquant and less deep. Amazing what an incremental tick up in alcohol does. Huge spice and vulcanized rubber. Light saffron as well. Palate is ripe and juicy and round with great freshness and depth. Really deep. So many piquant stone fruits. This needs air to open up as it’s holding back. What a long, luscious finish. Sapid. Pure. So complex and mineral. Juicy. So many stone fruits like apricot, peach and tangerine. I’ll be back as it opens. As this airs the palate depth is profound. The complexity ratchets up a notch as does the minerality. — 7 days ago

Nose is super mineral and slatey. Creamy as well. So sleek and refined. Slate dust. Pulverized slate. Floral? This nose is stunning. Brilliant. 9.8 nose because it is so expansive, detailed and expressive. People are sleeping on 2020. So elegant and refined. Stunning levels of concentration. So deep and so juicy. Perfect balance. Not a hair out of place and chunky, intense and ridiculous minerality. At once playful and at once mineral and serious. Nose starts with ginger, spice and even mild paprika. Huge concentration and delineation and a wine that takes over your mouth. It’s young yes but the insanely long finish suggests a long life. Wow. With air this gets so elegant. Unreal.
With air this is even better. So integrated on the nose. Palate is so elegant, chewy and just stunningly accessible. Just wow. — a day ago
