Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Day 1 took a couple of hours to really start showing its best (though the quality was obvious). Day 2, it was much more open. The 2021 Margheria pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of fresh raspberries, tiny forest strawberries, Morello cherry (especially on Day 2), tar, rosebushes, fresh sage, talcum powder and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose; the fruit showed more ripeness on Day 2. The finish is long, loaded with minerals and very savory! Considering the amount of air this enjoyed, I expect a long life of enjoyment. You can drink now with patience but this will be better after 2031 and through 2061+ — 7 months ago

Yummy red red wine — 5 years ago
Winery in the Rheingau is now called Kaufmann. Tasted this over the Christmas Holidays in Frankfurt. Beautiful wine, good acidity, hint of lemon, peach, and a soft petrol nose. Urban Kaufmann and partner Eva Rapp have been leaders in redefining Germany's classification system this GG (Grosses Gewachs) is a great start — 6 years ago

Pale green, peach and lingonberry on the nose. Nice balance of sweetness and acidity, refreshing, full-bodied for a Riesling, gooseberry and lime. — 8 years ago
Wonderful Barolo. — 5 months ago
Popped and poured into a bota bag; poured into chalices and free-poured into mouths as I played the role of Dionysus at a Greek god themed dance party. The 2022 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of primary black and blue fruits, mixed florals, anise and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. I love the fresh, crunchy fruit. A perfect wine for revelry! Drink now through 2030. — 7 months ago
2 yr op frabs eiken varrels, daarna op foudres. 6-9 jr in totaal. In de geur, veel fruit! Prachtig parfum. Wild berries, red. Zwarte peper, nu al leer. Rijp, mooie tannine, packed with flavour but still light. Heel verteerbaar. Saltiness. Savoury, maar vooral heel levendig fruit. Volgens wijnmaker kan deze heel lang rijpen. — a year ago

The aroma is similar to Azelia, authentic and pure, but missing some bass components. It even shows some natural wine tendencies, slightly volatile and gassy, which settles down quickly. The structure lacks the authority and the weight but it scores high in transparency and dynamics. It will not challenge the supremacy of Conternos, Mascarellos and Odderos because its aroma is less complex and powerful, but its structure is built on radically different geometry, which makes it very exciting. There is also a Burgundian sense of mastery of texture, and distinctiveness of aroma that separates it from more pedestrian Barolo’s. Also worth noting that while it shows the authentic character of Barolo it does not forego a strong individuality of the winemaker. — 6 years ago
