Appia Antica 400

Fattoria di Fiorano

Alberico Lazio Red Blend 2016

Ming L
9.3

I was watching Ripley the other night and the scene where Ripley dropped off Freddie’s dead body at Via Appia Antica made me want to open this bottle.
From 8 rows of vines the produced the legendary Fiorano Rosso, this Merlot/CS blend is expectably ripe, yet also manages to be bright and savory at the same time. Medium elegant body. Luscious and silky. Long candied finish with underlying minerality.
Tuneta Principe Alberico is run by the Antinori’s. Bottle 1945 of 2756.

Antica (Antinori)

NapaBella Napa Valley Red Blend 2013

What can I say about Antica that nobody else already knows. This bottle is a great example of their 400+ year family history of winemaking. Great Sangiovese for Napa or anywhere else for that matter. — 8 years ago

Sémillon Malvasia 2017

Nice golden color. Crisp but lots of honeydew melon on the palate. Finished with lemon zest and citrus. This is lovely stuff. — 5 years ago
