Château Palmer

Alter Ego Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

A. R.
9.2

Big and pretty and opened about 10-15 years too early. Second day was a huge improvement from the relatively closed nose on day 1. Can feel a bit of the alcohol on the finish. Modern and very well made - especially great Cab Sav on the finish. — 3 months ago

Hints of peaches and mango with some interesting hay-like funk. Well balanced hops to give it good structure. Very good! — 9 years ago

Château Palmer

Alter Ego de Palmer 2000

Did this as a vertical tasting 2012 Alter Ego, now onto secondary notes of stewed fruits, leather and coffee. Maybe not the case for all 2000s, but would even say this was a tad past it’s peak. — 8 years ago

Hartwell Vineyards

Number 3 tonight of 3. Started with the 2004 Alter Ego from Palmer, followed by the 2012 Realm Farella, and now this wine. The Palmer was good, the Hartwell better, but the Realm was best. This Hartwell at 10 years old has a tremendous amount of life in it. Enjoyed with a brownie made by Liam and supervised by MC. How can cab and brownies be bad. Hey Becca thanks for the shoutout on Delectable, and follow me push. I assume I'm your first wine friend too. — 11 years ago

Alter Ego Cider

The Guardian Angel Cider

Blueberry Pomegranate Cider. Light carbonated head. Fresh blueberry note in nose. Blueberry seed, pomegranate tartness, perfumed apple followed by fresh blueberry flavor with length. Slight apple malic aftertaste, including tiny chunks of blueberry pulp. Very tasty, fresh but not at all apple dominant. Probably off dry. Alcohol 6.5% but tastes lower. Label promises "hard cider with a focus on nuance, delicacy and depth"; promise delivered — 8 years ago

The town of Adelaide 1836 1834 penfolds was founded this was a label from one of their next door neighbors auldana cellars they paid homage to this cellar with making this wine since 1953 2200 liter oak vats they just purchased new barrels to age this wine but have used the same barrels since the 1950s this wine has a beautiful bouquet this vintage is the highest scoring st Henri ever 97 points. Very bright black raspberry fruit with black licorice violet very elegant and this wine also usually has a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon in the mix 3% in the 2010 and 9% in the 2002 this wine has a bit of evolution but still has some primary fruit this was a cooler vintage and had great structure and freshness both wines are most excellent
