Fantastic buttery chardonnay from used oak barrels. Full bodied with a chalky minerality and honey in the aftertaste. — 4 years ago

Last evening in Austria. Last evening meal in the restaurant and after a week of tasting mostly GV (and a bit of Riesling and gelber Muskateller) I wanted something different.
There is a minerally quality to that nose with crushed rocks and chalk, tangerine, lime, pear and peach. The palate is round and delicate with peachy and tangerine notes all along, some very soft and delicate mouthfeel, some grip in the rear before a zesty, a tiny bit bitter finish with pear and lime. It's a lesser praised varietal from Austria but every time I taste a different take I find myself liking it. — 14 days ago
