From the CA trip! Good friends did the Barrel tasting on these bottles! — 11 years ago
Really nice. Although it seemed a little bit sweeter, like a late harvest, it was still light enough to enjoy with shrimp. — 11 years ago
From the wife’s stash. Surprisingly solid! Medium red color with slightly brown edges. Nose is lovely and more of a red blend than cab. The age really refined this and Bordeaux like flavors were pertinent. Lacked some depth and finish was medium minus, but I really enjoyed it! — 5 years ago
2014 zichichi garage red. Not the Zin...but a nice petit Syrah mash up. Great, balanced blend. Big, juicy fruit - be an excellent pair for a hearty red meat. Too bad I’m a pescatarian. — 6 years ago
This gem from Zichichi vineyards in Sonoma never disappoints. Full and flavorful with a rich mouth feel. Everything from this old vine estate is sure to please. Try the old vine Zinfandel or the garage red too! — 11 years ago
Interesting wine. Not the big bold wine Z normally puts out. Rather calm and smooth, actually. Very elegant. Tobacco, dark fruits, not jammy, hint of oak that will get richer over time. I expected big fruit, but was rewarded with subtle smoothness. — 11 years ago
My buddy, Ash, gave me this many yes ago & suggested i hold it til 2008. I never listened to him (except he did turn me on to Zichichi wines...). Can kind of see the amount of sediment this had - like a pound of soil in the bottle! Still had great, chocolate, anise, black cherry tones & great lasting finish. If you have one of these - keep it for a few more yes! So far beyond my expectations! — 5 years ago
Awesome for Thanksgiving. — 6 years ago
I remember tasting this out of the barrel - a blueberry bomb. Now a nice petit sirah but not memorable. Sad that it hasn't aged so well. — 9 years ago
2012 vintage. Dark blueberry flavors carry through a long and rich finish. Very distinctive Dry Creek terroir. Barrel tasting for the 2014 going on now. They are small production winery and sell out every year. — 11 years ago
Great zin... Fruitier than Zichichi, another fave...
Drank it with chargrilled garlic-lemon chicken and basil asparagus - nice complimentary and balanced zin for lighter fare.

Unbelievable aromas coming from this wine that scream bright red and blue fruits.
Honestly - the joy is in smelling this wine. It also tastes good and is quite smooth.
I recall Steve saying this is a petite Sarah and Zin blend and a special wine from this vintage. Well done sir. — a year ago
