Deep ruby. Savoury, lots of tannin and structure, but beautifully balanced. No fatigue. Spicy, smoky, dried fruit character, but there are no dried fruit used. Tightly knit, good acidity. Still needs years to see its prime. 13,200JPY /bottle. — 4 years ago

2022/9. Quite pale, with a tart, crunchy character that teeters on the edge of too light, even for me - but it rounds out a touch with air and time, and went very well with food - pinot noir is always great with shoyu-based dishes, but this went especially well with masu teriyaki (though not with floppy sweet stereotype...) — 2 years ago

WhiskeyFest SF 2022 - (reused glass so not doing tasting notes) really nice. Will never find in the wild but delicious. I would lean less peatier if had to make a choice. Yoichi is the peatier one. Nikka - Single Malt Yoichi Aromatic
