Mühlberg Grüner Veltliner 2019

Bright yellow gold. Inviting nose of seared pineapple and yellow flowers. Firm acidity leads the medium palate of orange rind, yellow flowers, white pepper, and a hint of anise on the short-ish, but not unusual, finish. Excellent GV with more elegant layers of flavors than your typical Gruner. Want a special white for that Central European fare? This should be near the top of your list. Pork tenderloin with apples and asparagus were my go to. Drink now through 2024. — a month ago

Röschitz Die Terrasse Reipersberg Grüner Veltliner 2019

Pro ratings are on the mark here. Refreshing #grunerveltliner from #weinviertel. Lovely wet chalk, faint chives and vegetal notes, crisp acidity, touch of spritz when you first open the bottle and some citrus and white pepper on the finish. Here is your green salad slayer pairing wine. — 6 months ago

Königsmosel Riesling

As we continue to sample inexpensive wine from Lidl, this was a pleasant surprise. A nice, clear, sweet riesling had nice fruit and a smooth finish. This store continues to impress with wine under $10. — 10 months ago

Königsberg Riesling 2018

Star bright straw gold with rose gold highlights. Dried apple and dried flowers on the inviting nose. Firm acidity leads the medium light palate of baked quince, dried white flowers, white pepper, and a hint of flint all of the way through to the moderate finish. Laser focus on this Austrian beauty. Pork, game fowl, or scallops will have an excellent match. Drink now through 2028. — 5 months ago
