Weingut Aldinger

Fellbacher Lämmler Trocken Trollinger 2018

Looks: very light transclucent red. Looks like a very thin body. Thick legs moving down the glass very slowly despite the wine looking thin
Smell: very fresh on the nose with soy of freshly picked red fruits notes. Fresh strawberries (abit unripe), preserved cherries and almonds in the background. No oak.
Taste: medium to low acidicity with little to almost no tannins. Almost no fruit on the palate and very weak, almost thin finish with a little preserved cherries coming out at the end.

Untertürkheimer Gips GG Marienglas Riesling 2016

The weaker bottle from our impromptu 16' riesling study. I really wanted to like this more. I really did. It was my first time drinking a wine from Aldinger and they're considered the best of Württemberg. I just felt it stretched a little too much power, looking broad and round compared to the Breuer. Nevertheless, there's still much to like about it - nose is gorgeous. Stonefruits, heaps of candied ginger, and some spice. The palate is dense and there's a nice stoney minerality. Quite a bit of phenolic grip. The finish felt cut short by a a sort of oiliness. Not the best example of Aldinger perhaps and will definitely try other bottles when given the chance. — a year ago

Untertürkheimer Gips trocken Spätburgunder 2014

16.5/20 (90/100) Аромат красных яблок, вишни, поджаренного хлеба и шоколада. Высокая кислотность и шелковистые танины. Вишнево-шоколадное во вкусе. Весьма достойно. #lwf2017 (23.05.2017) — 2 years ago

Georg Breuer

Rauenthaler Nonnenberg Riesling 2016

An impromptu meet-up in Stuttgart yielded a little 16' riesling study - Breuer vs. Aldinger. Rheingau vs. Württemberg. Both warmer regions in Germany and from a more generous vintage. Having said that, the Breuer stood out for rising above the appellation and vintage!

The Nonnenberg's so elegant and juicy. Had more drive and finish than the Aldinger Marienglas. On the nose, grapefuit, pear, hints of passionfruit, white florals, herbs. The palate is crazy juicy with a beautiful mix of citrus and wet stones. Finishes with a zing and a touch of creaminess. It's extraordinarily elegant for the region (as Breuer usually is!) and vintage. Can't wait to revisit this wine after some ample cellaring time.
