09' Larkmead LMV Salon. 63% CB 16% CF 5% Malbec & Merlot.

Two hour decanting & it's still a bit tight. So much going on in this wine. Even more so than Russell's EE last night.

Big boy Red ... dark berries, mocha, unlimited layers in this wine. 10/15 great years in it.

10' Bevan Cellars EE Red Cuvée. I personally enjoy a well-made Cabernet with a "chunk" of Cabernet Franc in it. The older I'm getting the more I'm enjoying CF profile/flavors.

Give this at a minimum an hour decanting.

Color- Purple with dark ruby red edges.

Full bodied. Blue & black fruits pop out, cider, espresso, pipe smoke also. This is why I purchase wine. Nothing truly stands out on this blend. Drink/Hold.

EE bottling. Gorgeous perfume and stunning purity are two of many hallmarks of this deeply complex wine. Full bodied but not at all heavy, despite lofty oak spice and highish alcohol. Iron like minerality dominate the dense and spicy finish. There's a sense of place here which I like; something I hope Russel will explore further in future vintages. Yet, an easy 97 p. — 8 years ago
