This vintage if the Meritage style blend didn’t amaze me like recent years. It’s good on opening and has a dense dark fruit and spice nose. Merlot/Cab Sauvignon/Malbec/Petit Verdot. The palate is spicy dark fruits of plum, some cherry, blackberry and a hint of blood orange and a bit of leather and tobacco. But something seemed off for me. I then read the tasting notes and they suggested notes of goat cheese - I hate goat cheese! - mystery solved! The overall experience from start to long finish was a nice balance of juicy acidity and soft tannins. — 5 months ago
Yummy and smooth — 3 years ago
Exceptional on opening. Nose of dark berries and spice. Palate with complex of spiciness, juiciness, black cherry, blueberry, blackberry, & plum. Balanced low intensity tannins with lingering finish. — 2 months ago
Better and more complex than prior years. Amber color. Floral notes. Juicy acidity and somewhat dry. Grapefruit and mineral dominant on opening but after 30 min balanced with pear, honeydew, grapefruit, and slightly Chardonnay-like buttery oak softness. — 5 months ago
Mature full bodied with subtle dark fruit and more pronounced leather and tobacco palate with spice - primarily black pepper - growing during the lingering finish. — 3 years ago
Quite almond forward and sweet. Good for dessert or mimosas. — 4 years ago
This is a BIG Pinot. Big, fruit dominated nose, with a little herbal spice on the back end, with hints of black olive and rose permeating throughout. Big palate and body, with an herbal, hay or thyme palate, tannic, with a salinity that’s prominent, with black olive, some tar, and even a smokiness hitting the end, with dark cherry, plum, and a peppery spice showing up loud on the palate. Really good entry to South African Pinot. — 2 months ago
What can I say I love anything Angela makes, and the new Tribute to Grace tasting room in Los Alamos is a gem. My Dad declared this was his favorite wine ever and my mom is from nearby Cucamonga, so let’s just say everyone was happy. For that reason, wine of our trip out west after not seeing the folks for 18 months. As always, just incredibly elegant Grenache, light on its feet, but not without its nuanced power — 2 years ago
Ripe and heavily influenced by its barrel upbringing. I think this has potential but it just needs time to sort itself out — 4 years ago
