Whole Foods has this wine listed to go with a cheese pairing that worked really well. Roth Pavino cheese, Fig Spread and
Apricot, Fig and Lemon Lesley Stowe Raincoast Crisps.

Otherwise I’m not generally a huge Pinot Gris fan.

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2010

Found at charming "Stowe Wine and Cheese" shop in Vermont, this great Brunello is from the stellar 2010 vintage. Silvio Nardi, in the NW part of Montalcino, makes wine with grapes from different parts of the region. Bright red color with hint of brick orange; nose is full of red fruit, delicious herbs and mint; taste is powerful yet delicate, with silky tannins, high acids, orange peel, and a moderate-length finish with some soothing chestburn at the very end (14.5%). Won't touch my other bottles for many years. — 5 years ago

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

The nose is the only thing restrained about this excellent SHL. Shades of graphite, light red berry. After an hour decant, a seamless, velvety liquorice and blue-black fruited palate, perfectly extracted. Several at the table were guessing high-end Napa. A brilliant, sexy and voluptuous wine that’s just coming out of its shell. Destined for cellar greatness. Kudos to Eric and the team at Michael’s on the Hill, Stowe, VT. This feels like the great fooderies of Napa 20 years ago - brilliant, friendly and unpretentious. — 3 years ago
