Edition Cafe Sabarsky Und Neue Galerie New York Blanc De Blancs Méthode Traditionnelle Brut Grüner Veltliner 2015

German/Austrian wine night in Great Barrington, MA; 2019.

Fun stuff, tangerine on the nose, almost a light strawberry palate note, sparkling Grüner Veltliner.

Brut Riesling

A little stinky, a little cheesy, bubbly, surprising, very delicious. Like Ryan Adams’ cover album of Taylor Swift’s 1989. New appreciation for Riesling. — 5 years ago

Osterreichischer Sekt Brut Grüner Veltliner

Compares well to champagne at twice the price. Dry, dry, dry (none of the tiny bit o’ sweetness found in most Cavas or Proseccos). Tart apples and lovely mild effervescence. — 5 years ago

Val de Mer Non Dosé Brut White Blend

Aloha Champagne Fridays (this is the inaugural occasion). This is superb for around $20. The label lets your know this is dry all the way. 100% Chardonnay. Yellow apples and light caramel notes. Friends who take my reviews seriously (should proceed with caution) might prefer the Grüner Brut (Szigeti from Austria) from a little while back at this price point. But this is darn good. — 5 years ago
