Light golden in color and very pretty.
Strong nose of citrus, lemons, yellow apples, diesel, spices, minerals, light tropical fruits, sea salt and pineapples.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity, crisp and creamy.
Dry on the palate with lemons, citrus, apples, pears, light diesel, pineapples, white pepper, light earth, herbs and spices.
Long tangy finish with limes and black pepper.
This is a very tasty Riesling from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and rich.
Although easy to drink, it is more of thinking wine. A good quality wine with lots to offer. The spicy finish makes it interesting.
Very expressive right out of the bottle, and calmed down after 30 minutes of airtime. Better when not too cold.
This 4 year old is drinking so fresh, and I love that. Would age nicely in the next 10 years. One of the better dry Rieslings that I had from California. Has the potential to be a 94+ point wine.
Good by itself or with food. I had it all by itself by the pool.
12.8% alcohol by volume.

This is singing. What a showing. Stunning aromas of lime rock candy, cotton candy, so confectionary with dripping wet stones, citrus peel, fig, honeysuckle, and so much more. Wide open and so so refined. A thing of aching beauty. Palate is terrific and lively with citrus, flowers and such refinement and piquant acidity. Really lithe. Nimble. Elegant. Long. So pure. Just a tremendous bottle. Really the marriage of elegance and intensity here is unreal. The finish is crazy long and you don’t think it will be. — 9 days ago
This 2016 Riesling wine is made from late-harvested grapes, so it is sweet. However, it is sweet in a different way than a dessert wine is sweet. There is no layered sugar, no raisiny note. I get the sweetness of the grapes, and the minerals which accompany them. Stone fruit is apparent, as is the smell of a wet driveway, a whiff of ozone and the faint petrol notes that begin to show in Rieslings over time. This may be one of the best examples of the grape that I have had. — 2 days ago
I purchase Clonakilla Riesling most years along with their stellar Shiraz Viognier, their Syrah and sometimes their Viognier. Proven to age slowly this Riesling had white florals and Talc on the nose with a herbal note and no Kerosene. Honey and Lime on the palate with reduced acidity compared to its youth. A very good aged Riesling reaching its maturity and good QPR. Wines like this prove the worth of having a good cellar. See many previous notes from older vintages. — 10 days ago
Super mineral, super grassy, intense lime zest, some peach, but classic lean and mean Schätzel here. Spring water aromas. It smells so pure. Palate is just electric. Tangy and deep but also skeletal and lithe. Very pure and clean with peach and apricot fruit. Lean fruit. Concentrated and pure. Echoes on the palate. Superb structure and echoing finish. Really impressive. — 2 days ago
Lovely nose with pineapple, chalk, ripe peach, salt, nettle. On the palate, some dissolved CO2 gives a spritz and lift, but still seems a bit sloppy: good acidity and salinity, but very hot and weirdly tangy. Very hot, salty finish. Good, but not sad this is my last btl. — 3 days ago
2010 is this mislabeled ? This is zero star. Does not Taste like that.
This is sick off the bat.
Nose is elegant peach and peach flower. Crazy density. Some aged Riesling. Complex ... but I’m so blown away I can’t focus on detailing every little thing.
Palate is concentrated perfectly ripe peach. Crunchy confectionary elements. Juicy. Crazy fresh. It has the concentration of baked peaches but the freshness and clarity of perfect fresh ones.
Epic levels of almost tart acidity. Wow.
Whatever I bought it was a massive under buy.
