Elegant and delectable, with a texture of fine silk. Tastes French but avoids the thin acidity that plagues weaker red burgundies and Oregon Pinots. Delicately perfumed with flowers and red fruit, anchored by mushrooms and earth. I paired the 2016 vintage with French Camembert Fermier (Ferme de la Tremblaye) and an excellent pain de compagne from Wally’s in Santa Monica. Astoundingly good. — 6 months ago

Med+ acidity, trim sandy soil body, Plum, craberry skin, tea tannin, slight bitter, graphite/pencil, berry in the finish.
Enjoyed without decant, deserves 1-1.5 hr. decant.
I love Monica, a varietal I would like to see more of. Bet it would grow wonderfully in Baja (Prove me wrong). — 7 months ago
