Magnolia Grove

Oak Grove

Family Reserve Shiraz 2018

Color of burgundy with hue of bloody grapefruit, quite clear and lighter compared to traditional Shiraz. Nose of coffee, aldehyde, cherry, a bit raspberry, cigar box, and ripe grapes. Taste of ample acidity plus sweetness form strawberry, a bit zesty, a bit salty indeed, medicinal syrup, and some more grapes. Aftertaste shows more zest, oak, and peppery note. Light, sweet, yet with good flavors. Interesting different kinds of Shiraz. — a day ago

Very very good and could still age much more. Ok left open for a week but got some note of raisin. Excellent earthy cab. — 3 days ago

Rosé Blend 2019

Continues to be a great rosé from the Okanagan with flavours of unripe strawberries, cherry koolaide, and some minerality on the finish. The nose is subtle, orange blossom and crushed gravel. Paired with sage-stuffed chicken thighs with artichokes and red onions in a garlic and white wine sauce. — 20 days ago

La Bonnette Condrieu Viognier 2015

Tasted double-blind. The nose showed white flowers; sort of a mix of magnolia, jasmine and citrus blossom. The palate came across off-dry with some potential residual sugar. Pastilles and honeysuckle. I thought this was well balanced and seemed to have higher acid. My call was a Chenin Blanc; a Vouvray, demi-sec from a recent vintage. Obviously, I was way off. I’m told the relatively higher ABV in these wines, plus the fact that they are made in stainless steel, give the perception of higher acid. Anyway, it’s nice to drink Viognier that tastes like this. Now I wish I had a dozen oysters! — 19 days ago
