Hypothesis

Anne Amie Vineyards

Amrita Willamette Valley Sparkling White Blend

This was crazy good. Sparkling kitchen sink blend from Oregon. I remember having something like this a few years ago in Houston, which I loved, but then didn’t upon revisiting. Maybe there’s something that’s just quite surprising about a blend like this that wows at first because it’s so different from what we usually encounter. I’ll need to find another bottle to confirm this hypothesis.

27% Riesling, 26% Pinot Blanc, 18% Müller-Thurgau, 15% Viognier, 11% Chard, 3% Gewürz

Educated Guess Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This appeals to the nerdy scientific side of me. Stop laughing!! The label actually shows 5 winemaking formula strings! Rich, ripe, complex (and affordable). Nice go to after a long day at work. Looks like I'm going to have to try their Hypothesis label. — 9 years ago

Hypothesis Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

Large and lovely, with elegant fruit and good structure. I look forward to trying this in several years to see how it develops. — 9 years ago

Antichi Vinai

Petra Lava Rosso Etna DOC Nerello Blend 2019

Red earth. Just ripe cherry. Red currant. Rose hips. Blood orange. Sweet potpourri. Ethereal texture. Wanted the wine to be just a tad more expressive at first and imagine it could be with time and/or decanting.

Second night update: hypothesis proved right. Wine unwound a little on second night. More open and relaxed.
