Sequoia Grove

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Earthy mushroom and dark chocolate on the nose. Dark cherry, blackberry and currant fruit flavors with hints of truffle, vanilla, cocoa and grilled herbs. Soft tannins and very long finish. Rich and ripe, but quite rustic. Reminded me more of a Super Tuscan (compliment) than a Napa Cab. Qualifies as a Cab but actually more of a Bordeaux Blend. (82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc with the balance made up of other Bordeaux varieties.)

Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Very very good. Still one of the best single vineyards from Sequoia grove. 2015 is drinking nice with the aerator. Great nose. — 24 days ago

Oak Grove Vineyard Dry Muscat Ottonel 2017

Interesting Oregon White! Orange blossom galore on the nose. White peach fruit flavor with hints of lychee, green apple and citrus peel. Bone dry. (Not your typical Muscat) 11% Alcohol. Short finish but very refreshing . — a month ago

Harsher and more alcoholic than I remember the last bottle being. Still heavy the next day. — 13 days ago

We stayed at this winery as Harvest Host Members. One of our favorites!
This was our celebratory wine when we moved in to our new house in Arizona.

Oak Grove

Family Reserve Shiraz 2018

Color of burgundy with hue of bloody grapefruit, quite clear and lighter compared to traditional Shiraz. Nose of coffee, aldehyde, cherry, a bit raspberry, cigar box, and ripe grapes. Taste of ample acidity plus sweetness form strawberry, a bit zesty, a bit salty indeed, medicinal syrup, and some more grapes. Aftertaste shows more zest, oak, and peppery note. Light, sweet, yet with good flavors. Interesting different kinds of Shiraz. — a month ago
