Historic Vines Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

PnP. Dark red almost purple color. Oak, blueberries, and subtle firewood on the nose. Cherries, some spice, and more oak on the palate. Medium depth which is a touch stringy. Medium finish. Pleasantly surprised overall!

PnP. Dark purple, red color. Menthol and oak on the nose. Medium plus depth and a silky texture. Better than expected but still pretty average. Really loved the texture.

So so….30+ minute decant. Dark red color. Seemed like a lot of alcohol. No real fruit or distinctive characteristics. Was fine.

Totally different wine from the last bottle I had. Not sure if it’s bottle variation or some more age. Short decant. Dark cherry color. Reserved nose of dark cherry and medicine. Wine has lovely texture and is deep with great fruit and menthol. Medium finish. Maybe my expectations were too low, but this was very nice. Much closer to the first bottle I had!

I continue to be heart broken about Sequoia Grove wines. I used to love them, but seems like the quality has slipped and they are trying to do too much.

This wine is no different. Run of the mill $20 Napa Cab that unfortunately costs closer to $50.

1hr+ decant. Inky, dark purple color. Amazing nose, definitely top 10 considerations in that department. Earth, fruit, Napa, Rutherford; everything a Napa Cab should smell like! Plum, cherry, smoke on the palate; very similar to an Anderson Conn Valley wine if you have sampled that. Finish is short with spice, but overall excellent QPR as I thought I paid more than I did for these guys. Sequoia Grove knows their markets and price points!! 5 more bottles to go....

This wine was just ok for me. Decent on the nose but mild and bland finish. I prefer their regular SG cabs.

Needs to sit a while. Biting upon opening, decant for several hours.

Blech. Aldehyde. Hope it's a bad bottle.

Nice depth, lingering flavors were above par, pairs well with German chocolate cake
