Cave de Lugny

Les Charmes Mâcon-Lugny Chardonnay 2021

Proper cellaring and service temp do not do this wine any justice. It’s crisp and acidic, with citrus and stone fruit and ever so slight hints of oak. Cheers. — 13 days ago

Pretty PNP, gratuitous and flashy. For the price tho? Not like it's preventing the car/mortgage/kids private school payment. < $20. Microwave wine.

La Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle

Valée d'Aosta Prié Blanc 2020

I’m not sure where my previous note went.
Just when you thought you knew Italy, up pops this might as well be SwissFrench alpine darling from the Vallée D’Aoste.
Blanc de Morgex et de la salle. The town/village of Morgex lies just below Mt. Blanc. The Prié Blanc vines thrive in soil that has not known phylloxera.
Stones, herbs, and lemons all wrapped up in a rather electric pkg. I think drink young. Cold, the nose doesn’t have much to say past stone fruit, maybe rainier cherries.,But the palate is pow! Lemons, herbs, mineral, high acid and refreshing. With fried Branzino, perfect!
Always a sucker for high altitude Italian.

Most of the notes for this wine are under “Ermes Pavese”. It would be great if Delectable could consolidate duplicate (or more) entries.

La Mourziere Les Coteaux de Sierre Humagne 2014

a couple hours of air in and i think this one might be towards the end of its drinking window. fruit is still fresh but there is a funky dirty aftertaste that leaves this a little off balance. may need more air, let’s see — 5 months ago

The Syrah adds such great mid palatte to the wine. Not enough cab/Syrah blends. — 4 months ago

Alban is name of first child. what a nose, gamey, stoney, granite, loess, amazing nose. so so sick. red fruits. raspberry coulis. olives, leather, some funk, some barnyard, some horse. wow this nose. wow, so silky, so elegant, big and refined, but juicy and so so elegant. Amazing purity. So open and wide. Coulis. red fruit, so fine, so much velvety tannins, sleek and refined. polished classicism. precise dense deep and lots of material. Drinking so well now. — 4 months ago

Just another perfect glass of Crémant to enjoy some finely crafted French bubbles. Smooth, subtle and soft with light citrus and toasted wheat notes throughout. Splendid glass! — 5 months ago

I’ve had 2011, 2012, 2013 and now 2014. Aside from 2011, the notes are quite similar. This was opened for a merlot theme, and found itself near to the 2012 Reserve (much more layered). Corked and held up well over a few days.

After a few visits here, you start to pick up a signature note in all their red wines which is like menthol wrapped green peppercorn, and that is absolutely present here.

There’s an old world style but with a stamp of new world. Similar to the 2013, this has quite a bit of herb crusted black cherries and cherry tobacco aromatically. On the palate it has nice weight at this age and seems to be drinking at peak but with a great spine of acid. There is bay leaf, powdered dark cocoa, mocha, tart currant and more black cherry notes towards the finish. More right bank Bordeaux like than the other vintages. Really pretty.
