This "Lady of the Castle" - La Castellana - is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 15% Sangiovese, 2% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot, representing a "Super Tuscan" style with an unmistakable Napa Valley flair.
We bought this wine when we visited Castello di Amorosa in the spring of 2021. Sipping this wine brings us back to that day.
This is the 2014 vintage, offering a deep ruby hue with ripe, robust black cherry, blackberry, plum, and cassis notes complemented by black licorice, tomato leaf, delicate mint, dried oregano, star anise, fennel, nutmeg, vanilla, tobacco, clove, and leather notes with high alcohol clocking in at 14.8% ABV.
It's fragrant, soft, supple, and velveteen on the palate. Delish! — 8 months ago
This stuff is dangerous. Smooth, light on the tongue, but not simple. A light gold color, some kind of melon note and vanilla flavors. Great at this price; points for cost/benefit ratio. At Cory's in the freezing cold. — 3 years ago

Tasted blind, presented by Sue Bell. I picked Riesling, Australian and missed Porongurups WA. A brilliant Riesling made by Rob Diletti at Castle Rock WA. Lovely aromatics of Musk and Bath Talc. At 5 years the acid had settled and the citrus was going towards stone fruit. Really enjoyed this. — 3 years ago
