Fruity and soft. But not in a bad way. The acidity and tannins are present in the finish giving this wine a nice linger. It's buttery as well. Nice dark fruit but a bit on the sweet side. Give this 30-40 minutes to open up and it becomes a much more balanced wine. I prefer a good Chateneuf De Pape but a Great wine for a California cab drinker to get a taste of Rhone. — 8 years ago
Gros Manseng, Sauvignon Gris, Savagnin, and Mondeuse Blanche Blend. Wha?????..........The aromas of this wine are so lovely. Peach, pear, tangerine, butter cream and tree flowers. Creamy texture with fresh and tart acidity. This is such an interesting blend of grapes you don't get to try very often. It's hard to describe what I'm really tasting with nothing to compare it to but I really like this. This could age a while and the acidity would tone down a lot but if your not afraid of acidity in your wine this is a must try. I would drink this with Thai food. — 8 years ago
Peach orchard, flowers, fennel and stone is what I smell. The Acidity is vibrant but balanced by a creamy finish.Nice full body with layers of flavor that linger for quite some time. Had this with halibut over a spinach cream sauce with baby tomatoes and quinoa. This is outstanding!!!! — 8 years ago
This is a lovely wine. It has much more body than other Gruner Vetliners I've had but still so vibrant and fresh. The citrus hits you up front with apples and peaches on the finish. Had this with Asian meatballs over rice noodles (amazeballs). The Long lasting finish leaves you enjoying this wine for quite some time after you take a sip. So far this is the best Gruner Vetliner I've had. — 8 years ago
The texture of this wine is so soft and velvety. The fruit is ripe and Lucius but not overly so. It's followed by pronounced tannins and acidity that is very nicely balanced with stony minerals. This is definitely one of the better petite sirah's I've had. This winery consistently produces top notch wines and this is no exception. — 8 years ago
Not usually a Riesling fan but in the right circumstances.........This kicked ass with Massaman Curry!!! Had a little bit of the petrol smell when I opened the bottle but that subsided. Nice and fruity at the front of the palate with loads of mineral and acidity. The pairing was magical. Can't say I would have scored it so high if I drank it by itself but this wine was really good. — 8 years ago
Elegant and silky with subdued fruit and fine grained tannins. Was excited to try this after learning who made it but was underwhelmed based on the price. Good, but not amazing. — 8 years ago
Really enjoyed this. Fruity and buttery with minerality and acidity as well. . It's a California Chardonnay and a French Chardonnay hybrid. Great French Chardonnay for California chard drinkers. — 8 years ago
With a 95 point rating from Antonio Giulini I was expecting a lot more. This is a middle of the road Napa Cab at best. Lacks elegance, with A finish that borders on unpleasant. This is most likely not ready to drink now and I would hope that after time this would age and get better. Very "one note". No complexity. I shook the crap out of the bottle and it got a little better. Overall, not very impressed. — 8 years ago
