Not into flower adjectives for an orchard full of similies. For my perception it'great with lumps of parmesan (also with the strengths of chicken livers, pancetta & pasta). The appasimento adds sweeteness that matches the food - sweetness not to everyone's taste I suspect. — 2 years ago

Sold (by majestic) as a powerfully oak driven buttery chard.
Came across more as a slightly flinty burgundy inspired chard that improved as it warmed towards room (central heating) temp.
Interestingly from a marketing angle packaged in a heavier bottle than the non alta
Bottom line: appealed less than the modest stable mate both chilled and as it warmed & didn't show extras to justify the more than twice the price — 2 years ago
Prejudiced towards 1) the unusual & 2) having worked in Tbilisi where everything is cheap by UK standards.
