Missed this one by a few years. The 98 is still intense but ripe fruit has yielded to faded flowers. Still stylish and a bit slutty. — 10 years ago

Crisp and savory small estate Cabernet Franc from 50 year old vines. The amazing Peter Mahan does it again. — 10 years ago

Still chunky but mature in a rambunctious way with typical wild cherry fruit and an ever lasting finish that reminds me Bordeaux can be tame and civil without sacrificing intensity. That's what superior terroir does. 1996 vintage. — 10 years ago

Bruno Paillard's 2004 Brut shows it's pedigree. Less yeast, slower second fermentation and longer en-triage make for a complicated but flavor driven Champagne , one of the best I have had this year. — 10 years ago
