When cleaning out my wine refrigerator I found a sparkling red wine, a late summer jewel made of 100% Brachetto D’Acqui. Question-is this 2006 Banfi Rosa Regale from the Piedmonts region still enjoyable? Although slightly darker in color with less frizzante, it is full of fruit, strawberries, raspberries and red cassis. Serve ice cold with a soft cheese such as Brie, small Chicken Salad Sandwiches, your favorite hummus of the day and roasted pistachios. And it’s only 7.25% alcohol! — 6 years ago

Tired of Chardonnay but don’t want the sharpness of many Sauvignon Blancs? This Pinot Gris (called Pinot Grigio in Northern Italy) from Oregon can be your go to. Vibrant with fruit, this wine is crisp, dry and versatile with light dishes such as charcuterie and salads. — 6 years ago

Not often do I open a $55 bottle of wine just for me but how glad I was that I did! 2012 Fog Crest Estate Pinot Noir is awesome-deep in color but light in taste making it versatile with food. Fruit forward with the nuances of Russian River sunshine and fog. Elegance abounds! — 6 years ago

Delicious Dessert Wine. Deep red, smooth, never cloying, but has perfect sweetness. Shared with friends while watching live stream of my dear Nikita winning the International Cleveland Piano Competition on August 6 — 9 years ago
