Absolutely love these White Burgundies from Saint Romain! Butter, lime, and vegetable elements on the nose. An absolute lovely texture is this wine’s highlight! Camomile and butter on the palate, with a nice balance of acidity and sweetness. Medium finish. Very good QPR @ £24. — 2 days ago
Half bottle. 30+ minute decant. Definitely a top echelon nose - perfume, flowers (violets?), dirt, dark cherry fruit etc. Well balanced wine on the palate with dark fruit and a perfect combination of richness and finesse. Medium plus finish. Aging potential but don’t give too much air. Paired great with Chinese food. All the reason I’ve been buying this wine for the better part of a decade!! — 4 days ago
30+ minute decant. Dark purple, almost black color. Not much in the way of nose. Dark, black fruit and caramel on the palate. An absolute behemoth of a wine. Probably drinking way too young. I would have thought the alcohol was higher than 14.5%. That being said, the texture didn’t resemble any of the above, as it was very soft. Medium minus finish. Just not my style of wine. — 11 days ago
Blown away by this second label! Honestly, not much difference from the first, which is crazy as 2006 was an okay vintage.
1 hour plus decant. Unique color of dark red with brownish tones resembling a prune maybe. Fantastic nose of black cherry, smoke, and graphite. Wine is well balanced with just the perfect amount of oak. Lovely velvety texture. Depth is good, but not like the 1st label. Medium plus finish. Obviously great value! — 17 days ago
1hr+ decant, would benefit from more. Dark red color. Nose was fairly tight, but contained dark fruit and tar. Wine displayed excellent texture and medium body. More fruit forward with cherries than French terroir. Medium plus finish. Always enjoyable and developed nicely with more air. Started at 94 and ended at 95. — 10 days ago
Was in the mood for something different and this hit the mark. 30+ minute decant. Purple color with reddish tones. Muted nose of blue and black fruit. Palate is restrained with subtle hints of oak and vanilla. Some spice on the finish, which is rather short. Wine does have a lovely texture. Pretty much as desired and expected. — 16 days ago
