Surprised to the upside. PnP. Dark purple color. Nose contained coconut, oak, and cough syrup. Classic Portuguese wine in my mind. Wine was moderately thick with nice blackberry fruit. Medium finish. Good QPR and very little mark up at my local wine shop! — 3 days ago
PnP. Dark purple color. Classic Syrah nose with dark cherry, a bit of plum, and more oak than expected. Deep but smooth, although more OH than I would I have thought for 13.5%. Fairly thick with a very long finish. Not sure I would guess France if this were blind, but pretty solid value. — 12 days ago
First dinner out with the kids in a while! Wine was subpar, but that didn’t matter.
Dark red color. Very hot on the nose and palate. Some hints of oak and black cherry, and on the thicker side.
Won’t get again, but was worth a try! — 19 days ago
I really enjoyed this! Great recommendation as it was really different. Massive allspice, cloves, and chocolate. Super smooth and thick. Great value at £24, so much so that I bought a bottle for the road! Best thing was the guy was a Blue Jays fan! Not many of those in London! — 4 days ago
45+ minute decant. Dark purple color. Mild nose with stone and metallic elements. Wine lacks fruit and is dominated by graphite and pencil shavings. Also lacks French terroir. I used to really like this, but this wine was pretty average if not slightly below that. — 11 days ago
45+ minute decant. Dark red color. Has that great barnyard nose I love with meat and spice elements too. There is an interesting tartness when it first hits your tongue, which isn’t good or bad, just different and maybe out of place. Nice balance of cherry fruit and smoke. Medium plus finish. I really enjoyed this!! — 18 days ago
