Not sure what to think. Kind of interesting pepper on the nose at first, but it became a hollow, barely flavorful wine after it sat in the glass. I know this is young and a budget wine, but still. — 9 years ago
My first Syrah from outside the Finger Lakes. Remarkably similar to Damiani's 2011 Syrah. Who says the grape can't work here? — 9 years ago
A very pretty Syrah from a challenging vintage in the Finger Lakes. (I assume that's why the estate fruit was supplemented with grapes purchased from Sawmill Creek.) Rose petals, blue berries, and some white pepper on day two. — 10 years ago
Very pretty nose of violets and white pepper. Lots of olive on the palate; it's certainly a savory wine. Going to give it some more air and see how it develops. — 9 years ago
A fine wine that was obviously made well, but I'm haunted by the 2010 reserve. Brambly raspberries, graphite, and tobacco. Spring for the barrel select, or try to find the 2010 reserve if you can. — 9 years ago
I dig this. Probably a little heftier than I like -- which I'll blame on the vintage -- but it's still pretty nice. — 9 years ago
A very pretty, floral wine. It's got a nice presence on the palate, with just enough pepper to keep things interesting. Easily the best Syrah from the Northern Rhone I've had so far. I hope it'll start a trend! — 9 years ago
Warming up on this cool summer day with Syrah and turkey burgers. Very smooth, with hints of granite and lavender, but dominated by chocolate and black fruits. — 9 years ago
Decent for the price, but far from my favorite Riesling. Probably a "second or third bottle of the evening" wine for me. — 9 years ago
