The tannins of this '89 were totally resolved and this bottle was quite open, unlike more recent vintages I've tried. Soft cherry, ripe tomato, mushroom, earth, and faint dried herbs. — 9 years ago
Cool sweet bluish Syrah fruit, a little bit of fresh blood and iron, talc. Seems coiled up and young, but still surprisingly generous now. Can't wait to see how this ages. — 10 years ago

2011 vintage. Lots of rocky aromas with great green apple fruit and faint hazelnut on the nose. Lots of tension, with pronounced acidity masking a fair amount of weight and extract. Really delicious, and even better with some air. — 9 years ago
