The 2005 "La Barrique" Chardonnay from Peconic Winery was the last if a case I bought long ago. Good but not great, I liked the crisp fruit but the old barrel flavor, though light was still too much. Nonetheless, I generally recommend Peconic Bay's Chardonnay. I remember this being better when it was 5 or 6 yrs old. — 10 years ago
My first Poulsard and why not start with one from the so called Pope of the Arbois, Jacques Puffeney. The 2011 was one of the most elegant wines I have ever enjoyed. Pure glycerin and texture, low tannin, light red color making a Bourgogne rouge look dark. Paired with a hearty salad it was perfect. I loved this wine from the Jura, only 12.5% alc. — 10 years ago
Very light, very dry, Keller Trocken Riesling 2013 is a myth buster at its price point. No they are not all sweet. Light ape on the nose, good balanced straw flavor and a light touch of effervescence. The Rheinessen rules. — 10 years ago
The 2009 Dplcetto was still not ready 5.5 yrs later, but it had deep dark fruit to overcome still tight tannins. Will be terrific in 2017. The label is gorgeous and the wine is the best Dolcetto I have ever had. Perfect with Pizza. — 10 years ago
The 2011 Tzeriat has a uniquely plummy deep fruit and great texture and balance; in 3 years or so when it reaches tannic maturity it will be a terrific wine. Currently a little tight on the finish but feTuring enough fruit to overcome that easily. — 10 years ago

Lenz 2009 Gewürztraminer is a terrific wine. Lychee on the nose, spicy palate, finishes dead dry. Great American Gewurz, bravo to the Lenz team on the North Fork for producing an Alsatian quality, food friendly wine. — 10 years ago
2009 Domaine Fouassier Sancerre Rouge "L'Etourneau" is a wonderful, lean Pinot Noir experience. Lightly rich, medium to light tannins the 2009 was mature and delicious with creamy goat cheese and bread. — 10 years ago
2004 Bourriquot from Havens features enormous tannic structure and oak wrapped around big fruit flavor from Cabernet Franc sourced from Carneros. Great texture and depth but too much vanilla for me and a lot of barrel flavor. I liked the fruit very much but if ever a wine was made for the Scotch drinker.... — 10 years ago
