Intense, bold and not for the faint of heart. The 2010 had a taste of a strong fruity touch from top to bottom. Some drink mates claimed it was "flat" and "pungent", but they were those who are defined as the weak hearted members of their respected families. This wine is for the strong. This wine is one that Darwin himself would respect. Merry Christmas. — 9 years ago
Usually don't like California wines, but for Napa Valley this is good. Great structure and acidity, plus it's not too bold. Would've went great with some grass feed beef tenderloin, but had no complaints with this bottle on the side of my turkey and the 342 grams of protein meal. It's a buy. — 9 years ago
So young of a wine, but in perfect state. A faint powdery floral notes on the nose and a tight pucker on the tongue. This will go great for the dry wine lovers. — 5 years ago
Enjoyed this Chianti over a nice charcuterie plate of a variety of meats and cheeses. The wine itself was dry as I like and it’s aroma of sweet cherry. The smell wasn’t as bold for a usual Chianti but it’s unique in its own way — 6 years ago
After a long week of finals, I have decided to finally break out the Chianti Classico. A top shelf selection within my collegiate budget, but none the less a beautiful piece among Italian wine selections. Especially after a long week of straight grind. 🔑 to success=Ruffino — 9 years ago
Fate touch of blackberry, in an otherwise bland taste. Let sit for at least 30 or go with the 2008 — 6 years ago
A 100% sangiovese grape wine this balanced is rare. A hidden gem in he heart of Tuscany this wine had a hint of tart flavor that mixed well with the beef tartare. I plan to drink the whole bottle before the first meal arrives. — 6 years ago
Amazing. This shows what Chianti can be. Mark my word, gives this some time and it will be extraordinary. — 9 years ago
Due to popular demand I have brought the wine blog back. I want to thank my followers and my mom for all the support.
Very smooth wine with a slight touch of charcoal....yet it gives a slight velveting feel. This bottle is one that flows in the evening and can get you to the morning. — 9 years ago

Medium to full bodied. Brandied black cherry, black truffle, faint of raspberry, rosemary, mint and pipe tobacco. Although I have a lot of descriptors here, the wine lacks finesse and integration of fruit and tannin, resulting in an awkwardness and in any quite as balanced as you would assume. Tannins are still abrasive and may need a few years to soften & integrate. A very dry food wine that needs food with salt and fat to counteract the tannin. Heavy roasts and red meat work well. — 5 years ago
