Proseco in Rome, Italy--finally! Extra dry with delicate (?) bubbles, and delicious. — 10 years ago

Had a complimentary cup of this on the train from Rome to Florence yesterday, while playing cards with the family. Not bad for free. ;-) A little fruity, if I remember correctly. — 10 years ago

This Proseco was just ok. The after taste reminded me a little of beer. I don't drink beer or like it. I'll finish the bottle (with help) but probably wouldn't buy it again. That being said, we had a Bottega Valdobbiadene Proseco Superiore last night that was very nice! Not so "harsh" on the palate: "softer" bubbles, no beer after taste. — 10 years ago

I thought all Prosecco tasted good as long as you drank it in Italy!

It was good enough to finish the bottle--it's Italy, as you said!

This is the Bottega Valdobbiadene Proseco I mentioned in my earlier post. I had a glass of this at Tavernetta del Battistero Ristorante. Apparently, this Proseco you cannot find/buy in any local shops. According to the manager, it can only be purchased from the winery in a region north of Florence and he buys 50 cases of it at a time. Delicious. Might go back to buy a whole bottle before we leave. — 10 years ago

Well, did you buy the bottle?
