Chewy fruit. Good balance overall but quite austere. The Sangiovese is boggling. Not sure why it was put in there. — 10 years ago

This particular bottle had wine seepage through the cork. Possible heat damage as the cork was slightly bulged out. Overall impression was decent for its age. Lots of earth and spice character but no more fruit. A subtle Brett undertone as well which added complexity to the old fellow. Would be nice to try an u compromised bottle. 1998 Vintage — 10 years ago

I have seen biodynamic Syrahs done well. This is not one of them. Too much VA for my liking. A wine for a hipster somm who wants to stray from fruit bombs to be different. The artistry has been left behind. Add SO2 next time or be more diligent with cleanliness and oxygen management. — 10 years ago

Rich, balanced, and quite sweet (As expected). Stewed Bosch Pear, toffee, and other brown flavors. Acidity is a little weak, but the viscosity makes up for it. A good, simple dessert wine. — 10 years ago
