coconut milk, melon, guava, and fennel. creamy and fresh with a fair amount of soft oak, and a bit of spice to add allure - maybe cardamom and hint of clove? paired nicely with some cedar plank grilled salmon. i'd also try an asparagus risotto — 8 years ago
light notes of cinnamon, clove, and cranberry on the nose soften on the palate to dried prunes and tobacco. not really heavy, but still velvety and a medium-long, chocolaty finish — 8 years ago
a broad floral bouquet and a tight little taste at first. aromas of clove and nutmeg and brandy turn into blueberries and blackberries and smoky paprika in the mouth. creamy texture like syrup or pie filling. then the finish opens up the spice again and lingers with honey and coffee notes and the nearly 15% heat plays a little like cayenne or smoked ancho. great with bacon and blue cheese burgers, with sweet potato fries. let it breathe for too long and it lost the aromatics, so drink it soon after opening — 8 years ago
chalky and creamy and honeyed. tropical fruits on the nose, mostly ripe mango and funky melon. a fair amount of piquancy calls out for some cooked fowl or pork chops with apples. characteristically long finish with some subtle baking spices. a bit overripe, though perhaps another few years in bottle would calm it down — 7 years ago
a little cranberry and cherry in a subdued rich muddle. honestly, i aerated it and had it with mushroom and pepperoni pizza and it was beautiful and bright but it needed rosemary. next time i'll have it with a roast — 8 years ago
light as tissue but still clocking a 12% abv, this spanish white blend is great for porch sipping or easy starters. fresh pears and minerals and mountain breezes play like kites — 8 years ago
subdued fruit and thick minerality, like a great alsace blend should be. a flash of flowers, a smidge of frozen yogurt, and a long, smooth finish — 7 years ago
lots of old creaky leather and blueberries and raspberries and bran flakes. tannins are thin and even and burnished smooth. a long trail-off with some bouquet garni and sun-baked soil. opened up nice and quick for a decade old wine — 7 years ago
began with cherries and bark and ended with fresh plums and fresh mint. soft plush tannins like orange pekoe tea, aromas of herbs (especially thyme) and bitter vanilla bean in the back of the mouth. overall an easy, creamy, beautiful bordeaux — 8 years ago

stonefruit, quince, and orange peel on the nose. baking spice, especially green cardamom on the mid palate. honey and candied orange on the long, rich finish. — 7 years ago
