Solid offering from one of Virginia's more interesting new operations. The 2008 RdV Rendezvous beginning to open up, best years still to come (5+). Dark purple in the glass with black cherry, leather, cedar box, sweet tobacco with hints of violets on the edges. In need of a little more time to find its 'balance' sweet spot. — 12 years ago

A cool find while on travel in the DC area. Damn nice old vine Mourvèdre from the LongDock - from 50-60 year old vines to boot. A tasty, balanced marriage of overripe raspberry, old spice, sea breeze, and violet with hints of leather trying to sneak out. Moderate tannins all wrapped up in a nice violet.
