Smelled like apples, stone fruit. Very crisp. Crisp but lacking in acidity but my husband likes it. A bit of a long finish for a pinot grigio. Ate it with seafood — 7 years ago
Opens up with the smell of apple and pears. Very creamy finish. 2012 vintage is quite delectable. Would repurchase again and again — 7 years ago
Well rounded cab with apparent fruit and oak components. Dark red, almost purple coloration. Notes of licorice, tobacco, and pepper make this a very interesting conversation piece. The smell of the wine is delightful and complex where the fruit and oak are equally noticeable. On the palate, however, the oak components are less noticeable, but I imagine that decanting for a little longer might help bring out all those hidden flavors. I'd like to revisit this wine at a later time to see if my overall rating changes. — 7 years ago
Great value wine. Lot of apples in flavor and aroma, and nice acidity. I also cooked with this in a French Beurre Blanc sauce with white fish. — 7 years ago
Storng alcohol burn, typical porto aroma married to nutty and black fruit smells. Very caramel-y and raisin-y with medium body and a long surprisingly toasty finish. Like toasted rice crispies. First 10 yr old port I've had and I like it. Pairs well with fudge with peanut putter — 7 years ago
I just don't understand why everyone says this is grapefruity and bright. It did not smell significantly bright on the nose. A bit disappointed, but it paired well with buttery lemon scallops — 7 years ago
Dry start and finish. Alcohol "burn" is non existent after aeration. Earthy flavors mixed into the blackberry and ripe cherry palate. Leather on the nose. A bit of a meaty and tobacco aroma. Chocolatey on the finish with pleasant tannins. Excellent Old World wine!! — 7 years ago
Crisp with a smooth minerality to it. Pale salmon, nice acidity and tartness that compliments the fuit of the palette. Very mellow and pleasant aromas; definitely use a smaller glass intead of the ones for reds. I tried aerating to bring out the florals everyone was talking out, but much to my dismay, it brought out the minerality and stone fruit flavors instead. — 7 years ago
Tasty for the price. Lierally tastes like chocolatey fruity cake. The tart berries balance out the chocolatey woodsy aromas. Definitely recommend letting it breath as it warms up to drinking temperature if kept in the fridge overnight. For this wine, this didn't bring out the bouquet, but rather, it made for smoother drinking. — 7 years ago
Fergielyn Hagadorn-Aranzazu
Sunday brunch bubbly !
Toasty and buttery on the nose. First sip is flavorful of apples and nuances of citrus, with a creme mouthfeel. Honey flavors on a gentle finish. Plenty of refined bubbles. — 7 years ago
