If you’re looking for a quality table wine, look no further than the ‘18 Blackboard. Matthews has an excellent portfolio of wines, so much so that even their table wines are excellent. The aroma of the wine in its resting state surprisingly mellows as you swirl. Upon tasting I pick up on peppercorns and dark red fruits with persistent tannins. Pairing it with food will help to balance out the tannins. Great bottle! — 4 years ago

Nothing Matthews puts out is sweet, and this is no different. Light notes of strawberry and floral fruitiness, but not overpowering. If possible let it breathe for 15 minutes while still keeping it chilled. Perfect for a hot day. — 4 years ago

if you don’t think you like Merlot but wish you did, try the Tenor Merlot. The Merlot-ness is subtle and I think it’s quite a smooth, lighter-bodied Merlot. The tannins that come at the finish would do well to be balanced with some food but they are not so overpowering to prevent you from enjoying it by itself. — 4 years ago

Honeysuckle emanates before swirling but then, once you swirl, you pick up storm fruit, particularly peach. On the palette you get a chalky citrus finish that isn’t overpowering, just enough to know it’s there. — 4 years ago

This is the closest wine to a Pinot Noir under the Matthews brand. Although Merlot-dominant, it still provides the lightness necessary to drink a red on a warmer day. It’s a perfect median between a higher-priced and inexpensive wine at an average of $34. Excellent bottle of wine. — 4 years ago
