2010 Rioja - wine spectator gives it a 9.0, can't argue with that. This may not be the best sipping wine due to the lingering tannin - let it breathe or decant it before drinking. Pair it with food, and it is superb in that it sits in the background reminding you that it is there without over powering the food you are eating like a "good ole friend". . And the best part is the mid-teen price point ! — 8 years ago
Love this wine from Siena, Italy ! Anna's uncle and aunt shipped this one over when they were on vacation in Italy this year. Full body and raspberry flavor ending in a smooth finish making me want more. Pour it in a glass, and let it breathe for a bit to open up the flavors and enjoy. — 8 years ago
Strong nose and full bodied but not overpowering. Taste of spice and finish that lingers and the tannin drys out your mouth slightly if drinking without food. However, paired with beef tacos, this goes down nicely. — 8 years ago
Wow - a great inexpensive wine that has a nice strawberry nose and easy to drink quality. A great sipping American wine that can seriously challenge the mid-priced French Burgundy anytime. . — 6 years ago
There is a saying "you can't judge a book by its cover" - does it apply to wines too?? In this case, I think the label reflects the wine inside. Subtle, classic, and appealing can be said of the label and the wine! Nice strawberry as you drink with a nice gentle smooth finish. There is an undertone of spice, but I cannot say what spice it is. Nevertheless, the strawberry and the spice round out this smooth wine nicely. As I write this, I'm enjoying a glass of it right now. — 8 years ago
Languedoc, a potential retirement location in France second to Lyon, but I digress... This is a fine wine, nice flavor balanced with very smooth finish - can't go wrong with this one. Full of flavor and complements everything from pasta with meatballs to grilled branzino fish (yes fish!). Nice ! — 8 years ago
A red blend from Portugal consisting of 40% Alfrocheiro, 40% Tinta-Roriz, 20% Touriga-Nacional ... a mouthful to pronounce, but the result is rather nice ! The year is not listed, which means that the wines used in the blend span several years - but no complaints here. A gentle approachable fruit forward wine good for sipping and hearty foods. Another nice point is that the price is right ! — 8 years ago
The non-traditional label, I think is to symbolize its many flavors, but I'm not an expert wine taster and did not notice the floral and the berries - except a hint of cherries. Medium body and rounded, it is good with food and will not over power the food. A simple wine that is easy to drink and enjoy. If you like heavy fruit forward wines from California, you might not enjoy this. 100% Sangiovese from Romagna (central Italy). — 8 years ago
Nose is subtle and mellow with dark ruby red color. Supposedly this was Nelson Mandela's favorite wine. Very good with fruit forward and gentle finish. Good with or without food. — 8 years ago
Aloha Fitz
Great price point - in that it is $10+/- and it also tastes pretty good. Gentle on the nose and pallette. — 5 years ago
