Yves Cuilleron a Chavanay
Les Pierres Sèches Saint-Joseph Syrah
Fully mature and entering it's decline. Full of sediments and poured out lightly bricked. The bouquet was meaty, dusty, and leathery, with dried plums and cherries. Fresher fruit followed in the palate, but not juicy in any sense. There's accents of spice and bacon fat, finishing with a nice acidty. Although it paired really well with the butter chicken masala pizza (before you judge, this was an excellent pie 🤣), I can't help but feel this wine would have been fresher if bought in cooler country.

Jun 21st, 2020This wine was excellent with sausage stuffed turkey and trimmings. Magnum made it more festive.
