Very nice surprise another homerun by self-taught winemaker Rick Small, 1988 was supposed to be a very good vintage with some aging ability but didn’t really expect this one to be so fresh at 32 solid Crimson color no amber or brick at the rim perfectly balanced acidity, bright fruit, deep, rich extracted flavors of plums and Other blue and black fruits, thick, Mouth coating viscosity but not overly so on the palate, good length, some cedar sneaking in but tastes more like a 10 to 15-year-old . . Wish I had a bunch more because this wine should last another 10 to 20 years if it continues in the current mode of evolution
