Drinking nicely - black cherry, floral/roses, herbal, licorice. Acidity balances it out.

Quick highlight of the Copain Wines tasting at the storage facility recently. 6 wines were poured, 2 of them single vineyard. Since those two stuck out the most, I’ll just post those.

I’ve heard rave reviews of Copain’s Pinots. The goal here is more of an old world style...low ABV, express the terroir, don’t let the fruit overpower, etc. This checks off all 3. Very nice acidity here and nothing brash at all. Lots of red fruit with additional layers of licorice and hay. Earthy finish. A nice change up from the big, extracted Bevan like Pinots (though I personally love that type).

Big girls don't cry! This got the density going. Deep cherry, raspberry notes it still has enough acidity to cut the fat, was singing w/ a strip steak. Killer Pinot if you like them fat bottom girls. Rockin'

Fresh dark cherry, bright plum, and vanilla spice on the nose, tight acids. This wine deserves a great meal!

Most muscular of a lineup of Copain beauties today and coming in at something like a whopping 13.1%! Great to see the consistency of detail and delineation of flavors and freshness in these wines. This is a young wine made from young vines. Potential for great things are hinted at here.

A classic Pinot noir from the Russian river - COPAIN winery. Very impressive, notes of blackbeery and dark cherry. Perfect balance and finish. Will get better with aging!
