Fabulous! Perfectly aged auslese from a fabulous vintage. Ripe apricot, honeysuckle on the nose. Palate is mouth-coating petrol with honey. Full-bodied and piquant as you’d expect from this classic vineyard. Finish is long and beautiful.
This auslese has less mineral and stone than many others from the Mosel but makes up for it with the full bodied but elegant nature.
Richter usually makes TBA and Eiswein out of this 1 ha vineyard, but in bountiful years, the winery will make a small quantity of auslese.
This wine is hard to find, but get some if you can. Drink one now and cellar the rest for another 20 years. 2007 vintage on Aug 5, 2018.
