Absolutely delicious merlot. Enjoyable all alone and even better with my New York strip. Mouth coating with smooth tannins.

This might get better, but I enjoyed it less than the 2009. We'll see what it's like tomorrow, but even after a decant tonight, it was over the top and disjointed. The nose is wonderful, but what little balance there is owes more to heat than tannins. [Update: it definitely improved after an overnight in the decanter. I won't load up on it, but yesterday's rating was perhaps a little too harsh.]
