At 14.5% abv this is a powerful, juicy and slightly over-the-top wine. It’s a bit cumbersome with loads of blackberry, black cherry, strawberry, red currant and plum flavors that end up a bit out of balance with the high alcohol asks hint of residual sugar that gives the wine a connected quality. There is acidity here, but it’s not enough to offset the weight of the fruit. Charming to be sure but hard to finish a second glass.
