Kinda weird and good. Classic style. Some VA.

Spot-on, classic, perfectly delineated Saint Joseph. This is the elegant and pretty side of Syrah. Flowing waves of violets and black pepper lift effortlessly out of the glass with bright red fruits. Mid palate is silk and nearly weightless with fine tannins. Low alcohol and neutral oak profile allow for a very pure expression. Hints of game on the finish with a lingering minerality and a fresh, spicy peppercorn character that would be lovely with a variety of meats and herbs. Beautiful wine that I look forward to revisiting over the next 2-3 years.

Really classic St Joseph. Tons of black pepper and violets with hints raspberry and red currant. Still pretty youthful and lovely all the way through.

A nice wine with a medium body, red fruit that is youthful yet lush.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I didn't get much fruit at all in this wine, but maybe that was the point.

Clear rub leaning toward magenta brightness. Very pretty. Youthful and fresh. Aromas of pepper and violet. Mild animal notes. Medium plus aromatic intensity. Tart currant / cranberry fruit on the palate. Medium tannin, velvety. Medium acid. Checking many boxes. Moderate plus company complexity
